Home was a shade of black. Life was a shade of black.
I never wanted to colour it, put white on it. I never wanted to find a shade of grey.
In my world, my sea of black, I was looking to elevate. Glamorise. Make it the most chic sophisticated shade of black you could find.
I knew my life was darkness. And I knew a white spectrum of light would not splatter onto my walls and turn my blast of dark into a welcoming bright creation.
I knew I couldn’t find grey, because black is full on, assured, it’s confident in its purpose.
So I accept my blanket of black, I accept it’s not going to change its origin. And I accept change comes from working with the black, and not against.
