I am so happy and appreciative of ciarralorren, for nominating my blog for this award. If you love fashion and beauty, you need to check out her blog! Not only does she upload great photos, she writes awesome content. I was nominated earlier this year, and I think this is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the blogs that I love, and people who take the time to read and support my content.
Here are the rules:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post to show your award.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
- Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
The story of my blog
Since I was a child, writing has been a huge passion of mine. I started getting into poetry and writing my own; people were telling me that my work should be out there. After years of convincing myself I was not ready and letting perfectionism put me off, I finally said, don’t let fear hold you back, create your site and worst outcome, you live and you learn.
I am truly grateful whenever someone takes the time to read my posts. Thank you to everyone who has or has liked and commented!
Advice to new bloggers
The first piece of advice I would give is to plan. The beginning of my blog in January this year, is completely different to how it is now. I think as you grow as a blogger, you will always make adaptations. But having a set idea and knowing what you want your blog to represent, will make it much easier and more clear when it comes to creating content.
Secondly, do not be discouraged. I started an Instagram account a couple of years ago, and I tried and tried to get at least 100 followers. Barely any likes or comments, I set up a new account and when about it at a completely different angle. Now reaching to 2,600 followers, I have a community of support. Sometimes people start something and it booms instantly. For others it’s a case of being the tortoise, which as the fable suggests, is not necessarily a bad thing.
